Youth activities / recreation facilitators
Children living in our affordable housing communities need caring, patient and compassionate individuals to assist with many after school activities. The possibilities of activities are endless and we would love to capitalize on your strengths and skills to better the community in which our families live! We focus on helping youth develop life skills that will allow them to succeed in school… and life! Do you have what it takes to make a difference in a child’s life?
Arts & Crafts Facilitators
Share your artistic skills to enrich the free-time of the youth on our properties! Arts & Crafts projects can be as simple as painting and/or coloring, or as complex as working with different mediums. Your passion for the arts could be the encouragement that our youth need to pursue their interests in this creative field. We request a 3-month commitment to this position. Archway can provide supplies and equipment as needed.
This volunteer opportunity provides the chance for community members to offer their computer/technology expertise to residents at a low-income housing facility. The residents themselves have requested support for improving their computer skills. The potential volunteer would work with residents to develop basic to intermediate level computer/ word processing / web navigation skills. Patience and flexibility are a must. As is a high comfort level in working with speakers of other languages.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructors
Many adults in our affordable housing communities need assistance with basic conversational ESL instruction. We are looking for a compassionate instructor who can take time to help many people whose native language is not English. Instruction will take place one evening per week for up to one hour per session.
Girls Programming Facilitators
Join the Family Services Department as we develop and implement gender-specific programming for girls who live in our affordable housing communities!
