Celebrating a New Playground at Sheridan Ridge!
In late 2021, through a generous grant from the Colorado Health Foundation, Archway Communities received funds to replace the rundown play structure at Sheridan Ridge townhomes. This 65-unit community in Arvada supports individuals and families, and this new outdoor community space will enhance the health and wellbeing of the entire community, addressing health inequities and removing barriers to use at Sheridan Ridge in Arvada. In addition to a playground, the community is also installing components for a dog park so all residents can come together in a holistic way.
Colorado Health Foundation believes that health is a basic human right and they are bringing health in reach for all Coloradans by engaging closely with communities across the state through investing, policy advocacy, learning and capacity building. Having health in reach means something different for every Coloradan and every community, because not everyone has the same opportunities. Lack of opportunity, poverty and racism are key drivers of health challenges experienced by Coloradans, their families and communities across the state. Because of this, it is essential that every step Colorado Health Foundation takes creates fair opportunities for all Coloradans to be healthy.
