David Nestor
David is the President and owner of Urban Lights, a decorative lighting showroom and design center located in central Denver. A Colorado native, he graduated from the University of Denver in 1973 with a BA in Psychology. He has been a long-time member of the United Church of Christ (UCC) in the Denver area and active in many facets of church life including various administrative roles, community outreach activities, and outdoor ministry programing in the denomination’s Rocky Mountain Conference. In 1993, he was motivated by a local community service organization to explore the need for affordable housing in the Metro Denver area and, luckily, stumbled on an old UCC mentor of his, the Reverend Robb Lapp. Together, Robb and David formed the affordable housing organization that we know today as Archway Communities, providing home to so many Colorado families. In 1998, David was recognized by Colorado Housing Now with the prestigious Eagle Award for his work with Archway to develop and advocate for the affordable housing effort in Colorado.
David is a lover of all things theatrical and has enjoyed singing and strumming his banjo whenever time allows between work and family.
